Special Events - and not in the short bus way
- INTERSTITIAL ARTS EXCHANGE PARTY, July 2011, at Readercon. What will I bring? You'll just have to come and see.
- DESERT RAT WRITERS' CAMP, June 30 - July 6, 2011, in a private cabin in Sedona, AZ. We will be in the middle of the desert with no Internet. This is why you canna find me during this time, even though I would very much like to talk to you about my F&SF story. Wait 'till I get back, pretty please?
- ARTISTS' SALON, March 6, 2011 (2 p.m.), at a private location in Somerville, MA. But perhaps I'll see you there, if the hostess has also put you on the guest list.
- READING, July 9, 2010 (6 p.m.), at Readercon. I'll be reading from "The Leafsmith in Love" at the Beneath Ceaseless Skies reading.
General Events - the Kabza in his natural habitat
| Arisia: | in January - A con with a young crowd, lots of energy, and a wide variety of programming. Fan life at its finest. |
| Boskone: | in February - An older crowd and a small-con atmosphere, it has less programming but more focus. An enjoyable brainiac retreat. |
| Readercon: | in July - The con for hardcore Word Nerds. Nothing but the literature. |
| Pandemonium: | The Nerd Store (as I fondly refer to it) in Cambridge, MA hosts events from readings and book signings to gaming and movie nights. You'll see me at them sometimes. You might also see me browsing the shelves, preparing to spend large sums of money. |
Invite Me
To invite me to your Boston-area event (reading, book signing, writers' salon, funky artistic what-have-you), please see my contact page.
Why Just Boston?
Some scifi nerds (who are not me) have lucrative jobs designing software or running companies, which enables them to not only roll around decadently on piles of money at night, but to also attend whatever cons strike their fancy. I am on a more modest career path, and as much as I would like to, I cannot easily traipse down to wherever your event is, no matter how fervidly you claim my brilliance shines. ...Why? You wanna fly me out somewhere?
